Send a fax from Gmail

Email your documents to the recipient's fax number at our address and we fax them. Works with any email account on a plan.

Write to the recipient's fax number at fax.faxies.com and attach your documents. We fax the attachments and email you how it went. It works the same in Outlook, Apple Mail or any other email app.

  1. Get a plan with pages

Faxes sent by email use your plan's pages, because there's no way to pay inside an email. Without a plan, or without enough pages left, we reply with a link to send the fax on the web instead, where you can pay for one fax.

    See plans

  2. Send from an address you've set up

The email you sign in with can always send faxes. To send from another address, like a shared office mailbox, add it in Settings → Email to fax. We email a link to that address: open it while signed in to your account to verify the address.

Open Email to fax settings (sign-in required)

  3. Write the recipient's fax number in the To field

Write the recipient's fax number before the @. For example, to send a fax to (212) 555-0100, write to:

    2125550100@fax.faxies.com

Use the 10 digits for US and Canadian numbers. Dashes or dots between the digits are fine, like 212-555-0100@fax.faxies.com. Right now we can only send faxes to the US and Canada.

One recipient per email. If the email goes to more than one fax address, in To, Cc or Bcc, we don't send it.

  4. Attach your documents

Attach PDF, JPG or PNG files. Up to 10 files and 50 pages per fax. Each file can be up to 20 MB, and all of them together up to 40 MB.

    • We fax them in the order you attach them.
    • There's no cover page: the fax has only your attachments.
    • The subject and the text of your email aren't faxed. Images inside the text, like a logo in your signature, are skipped too. To fax an image, attach it as a file.
    • Gmail turns very large files into Google Drive links. We can't fax links, so attach the file itself.
    • Password-protected PDFs can't be faxed.
  5. Send it and watch for our replies

We reply to the address you sent it from. First: “We got your fax to (212) 555-0100 (3 pages) — it's queued.” Then another email when it's delivered, or if it fails. Most faxes arrive in a few minutes.

You can also follow it in your account, where it's marked “Sent by email”. If a fax fails, its pages go back to your plan.
