What each status means

Queued, Sending, Retrying, Delivered, Failed and Canceled, and what happens next in each one.

Every fax has a page that shows its status and updates by itself. Open it from your dashboard or from the link in our emails. Most faxes arrive in a few minutes.

Queued
Your fax is ready and waiting for its turn to be sent.
Sending
We're calling the recipient's fax machine and sending the pages.
Retrying
The line was busy, nobody answered or the connection dropped. We try again up to 2 more times at no extra charge, and the page shows the attempt we're on.
Delivered
The recipient's fax machine accepted the pages. You can get a delivery receipt.
Failed
We couldn't deliver it. The page says why. You aren't charged, and plan pages come back.
Canceled
The fax was never sent, and you weren't charged.

Emails

We email you when a fax is delivered or if it fails, so you don't need to keep the page open. If you sent it without an account, the email has a private link back to the fax's page. You can turn these emails off in Settings.

Canceling a fax

Once you've sent a fax, it can't be canceled. Until you press the last button, nothing is sent or charged.
