Files you can fax
PDF, JPG and PNG files, and what to do with a Word document, an iPhone photo or a file that's too big.
You can fax PDF, JPG and PNG files.
- Up to 10 files per fax.
- Each file up to 20 MB.
- Up to 50 pages in total. A cover page counts as one.
We fax the files in the order you choose, each with its pages in their own order.
Word documents and other files
Save the document as a PDF first, then add the PDF. In Word, Google Docs or Pages, look for Save as PDF, Export or Download as PDF.
iPhone photos
Some iPhones save photos as HEIC, which we can't fax. Export the photo as JPG, or set Settings → Camera → Formats to Most Compatible before you take it.
Password-protected PDFs
We can't open a PDF that needs a password, so we can't fax it. Open it, then print it to a new PDF (Print, then Save as PDF) and add that one.
A file that's too big
Save it again as a smaller PDF, or split it into several files. If the whole document is more than 50 pages, send it as several faxes.
Unsent faxes are deleted after 24 hours. If you leave one halfway, start again from Send a fax.
