Send a fax online
The five steps to send a fax from your browser: recipient, document, cover page, review and send.
Open Send a fax on your phone or computer. It takes three steps, and nothing is sent or charged until the last one. You don't need an account.
1. Your fax
Type the recipient's fax number with its area code. When the number looks right, we show it back to you, like “We'll send your fax to (555) 123-4567.” You can also add the recipient's name, like “Claims Department”: it goes on the cover page if you add one.
Then add one or more files, or take a photo of each page on your phone. PDF, JPG or PNG. Up to 10 files, 20 MB each, 50 pages in total (a cover page counts as one). We send the files in the order shown: use Up and Down to change it. Each file shows a preview of its pages, and the total shows as soon as a file is ready.
Have a Word document or another kind of file? See Files you can fax.
2. Cover page
Add a first page that says who the fax is for, who it's from and what it's about, or press Skip cover page. It's optional and counts as one page. See Add a cover page.
3. Review and send
Check the recipient, the documents and the cover page. Each one has a Change link, and the total is right above the button.
- Without an account, type your email. We send the fax's status and its receipt there. No password needed.
- Your name. If we don't have it yet, we ask for your name or company. We print it at the top of every page, as US law requires.
- Payment. Press Pay and send and enter your card on Stripe's secure payment page. We place a hold for the price on your card and charge it only if your fax is delivered. On a plan, the fax uses your plan's pages instead, and the button says Send fax.
You may see a quick security check before your first fax.
After you send
The fax's page shows where it is and updates by itself. Most faxes arrive in a few minutes. We email you when it's delivered or if it fails, so you can close the page. If the line is busy or nobody answers, we try again up to 2 more times at no extra charge.
